Cargo bikes are on the rise, especially in cities they are excellent to haul the kids or go grocery shopping and are the closest alternative for a car.
WHERE DO I PARK MY NEW CARGOBIKE?
Owning a cargo bike in a city is not easy as there is no storage inside the houses and outside parking is a high theft risk. Outside, there are no designated parking places for these large bikes so they mostly end up on the sidewalk, blocking pedestrians.
THEFT AND VANDALISM
A more pressing issue is theft, and the much short(er) lifespan due to vandalism and the continues exposure to weather, which is not a sustainable format.
E-bikes, are a good option for longer distance travel, but living in city's, owning one is virtually impossible to the the lack of safe parking options.
PARKING SOLUTION AESTHETICS
Current parking solutions are basic steel boxes or bike racks, that serve a sole technical purpose but will not contribute to tasteful city architecture. and city's can use more green!
CURRENT STATE OF MOBILITY HUBS
The shared (cargo)bike systems, the existing 'mobility hubs' are often just a line drawing on the ground where uses can randomly park the bikes and use up much more real estate than needed.
The use of space can be done much smarter.
Our latest development solve all these challenges and help cities organise better and increase theft and vandalism safety and look good while doing so.
The mobility.hub can park 2 cargo bikes and 2 (e)bikes.
And is designed to be placed on one car parking spot and only uses 8m2.
We have put a lot of thought in the usability of the box, as cargo-bikes are heavy and not easy to manoeuvre, let alone lift if to get in place. The smart side doors, open like a car door on street / sidewalk level and the cargo-bike is simply pushed on the door platform, park, lock and push the door close.

UTILITY.BOX
A second purpose for the mobility.hub can be as a last mile delivery hub. We replace the bike parking for a container box for parcels. The parcels can be transferred into the cargobikes and the last mile can be delivered.
It can also be a combination of cargo.bike storage and parcel lockers for local residents.

The large doors are made from 100% recycled plastic developed by POLYGOOD.
Front and back end are finished with durable wood panels.
The roof has a 8m2 sedum garden for improving the city's biodiversity.
Various door locking options are available, from non (shared bike programs), to keylocks or fully App controlled smart locks
Charging sockets are optional.
The mobility.hub does not require ground works, can be placed on a car park spot and can be moved to another location easily.
